PID lamps are low pressure discharge lamps. Depending on the gas fill, they emit intense spectral lines in the range of 105 and 150 nm. Applications include gas chromatography, trace gas analysis, portable gas sniffers and sample ionisation for mass spectrometry.
The life span of a Heraeus Noblelight PID lamp usually exceeds 3000 hours at ambient temperature. Lamps in the following variations are offered:
· different gas fills (xenon, krypton, hydrogen, argon) · different window materials with different cut-off wavelengths · DC or RF (electromagnetic field) excited lamps · ionising energy from 8.4 eV to 11.8 eV
